I wanted to do another journal update since I haven't done one in a while. First off, I want to say thank you to everyone that has added my pictures to favorites, commented (even if it's a 1-2 word comment), and have helped suggest my pictures to other groups. I really appreciate the support! I don't really watch the numbers very much but, i realized that I have already passed 10,000 page views which is really quite astonishing to me. I started this DA to help cosplayers find photos I took of them and to have a place to store the higher-resolution versions that weren't destroyed on my SNTP Facebook Page thanks to the "wonderful" compression that facebook offers.
I've been quite busy at my real job, so it's been difficult to edit all that much lately. I will try to edit at least 1-3 photos per night. i realize that I'm quite slow in my editing process, and i'm trying to do more tutorials and to get more pre-set actions so that I can speed up my process. As you can see from some of my photos, I did get to visit Yaoi-Con, even if it was only for a few hours, and I think i was able to capture some nice images given the time/location I had to choose from. i'm definitely trying to find more creative ways to use my fisheye lens as well as trying to use my 45mm F1.8 a bit more. My 12mm has been such a mainstay on my camera I really feel i need to change it up a little now. I'm also looking at getting different lighting equipment for different effects, some of which I'm so excited to try (but can't let you in on it just yet ). i'm also planning on buying a gopro Hero HD 3 at some point so that I can do some fun slo-motion cosplay videos.
My next convention that I'm attending is PMX. i went there last year for 1 day and had lots of fun shooting but my batteries died on me!! This year, I have quite a bit more experience and i won't be letting that happen again. I'm not necessarily booking any shoots for the con, but i'm sure if you're going you'll see me there. Don't be afraid to come and say hi to me! Since I've done some overtime at work, they've given me a day off for Day 0, so I'll get to visit on Friday!
Lastly, I would like to thank This-Is-Cool UK for featuring me on their website. It is such a great honor to be featured especially in the company of one of my favorite photographers: (please check out his DA page. HE'S AWESOME!!).
Thanks again everyone for watching, and commenting and adding my pictures to your favorites. I hope to share more great cosplayers with you soon!
